چکیده
Abstract Fouling of maritime infrastructure is pervasive due to abundant biological and chemical activity within the oceanic environment. Marine biofilms their successional growths are prevalent issues in biofouling, but current industrial research-based analyses often do not provide a holistic view fouling biodiversity. Cathodic protection longstanding system safeguarding from corrosive marine environment, limited studies on interactions between growth cathodic have been conducted context fouling. This review identifies knowledge gaps understanding highlights approaches better direct development effective anti-fouling measures.

Experiments on Surface Reconstruction for Partially Submerged Marine Structures
Over the last 10 years, significant scientific effort has been dedicated to the problem of 3-D surface reconstruction for structural systems. However, the critical area of marine structures remains insufficiently studied. The research presented here focuses on the problem of 3-D surface reconstruction in the marine environment. This paper summarizes our hardware, software, and experimental cont...
متن کاملMarine biofouling: a sticky problem.
Organisms that colonise underwater surfaces, such as barnacle larvae and spores of algae, use a diverse array of biological 'glues' to provide both temporary and more permanent adhesion. The practical consequence of colonisation by these organisms is biofouling - something that has plagued mariners for years - causing increased drag and, in extreme cases, corrosion. Might there be a biological ...

Adhesive and marine biofouling release properties of coatings containing surface-oriented perfluoroalkyl groups were investigated. These coatings were prepared by cross-linking a copolymer of 1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate and acrylic acid with a copolymer of poly(2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline) and methyl methacrylate at different molar ratios. The relationships between contact angle, co...

The resistance of charged polymers to biofouling was investigated by subjecting cationic (PDMAEMA), anionic (PSPMA), neutral (PHEMA-co-PEG10MA), and zwitterionic (PSBMA) brushes to assays testing protein adsorption; attachment of the marine bacterium Cobetia marina; settlement and adhesion strength of zoospores of the green alga Ulva linza; settlement of barnacle (Balanus amphitrite and B. impr...
متن کاملBiofouling protection for marine environmental sensors
These days, many marine autonomous environment monitoring networks are set up in the world. These systems take advantage of existing superstructures such as offshore platforms, lightships, piers, breakwaters or are placed on specially designed buoys or underwater oceanographic structures. These systems commonly use various sensors to measure parameters such as dissolved oxygen, turbidity, condu...
